Week of January 14, 2019 - MLK SUNDAY

Thursday, 1/17

God, My Parents, and Me

A parent group for families with young children. God, My Parents and Me supports the challenging work of parenting by offering spiritual fellowship and emotional nurturing to parents at All Saints Church and in the community at large. Meetings are held Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the Guild Room. Child care is provided.

We welcome all types of parents. Foster parents, LGBTQ+ parents, single parents -- all are welcome here.

Sunday, 1/20

MLK Sunday! Come back on Monday for all day readings of the words of MLK.

Children’s Chapel at 9 and 11:15 am

Children’s Chapel occurs every Sunday at 9 am and 11:15 am for Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Children’s Chapel is a space for children to explore church community at their own level. We radically welcome, pray, explore themes of the people of God, and discuss what’s happening in the world.

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate MLK! We will watch an MLK video of Kid President and play of game of “Who said THAT?!?” I will read phrases by MLK and by others and children will decide if MLK said it or not!

Curious about videos in Children’s Chapel? We show about three videos each year (generally Advent 1, Pentecost, and MLK Sunday) and all are under 5 minutes. Most of our lessons start with a book or game.

Questions for the car ride home could include:

  • What did you do in Children’s Chapel today? (don’t worry if they don’t remember, ask them how they felt instead!)

  • Did you learn anything new about MLK?

  • What surprised you about church today?
